Simple First Step:
Run TutorClaw_Setup.exe after it finishes downloading. It will guide you through the entire setup process—no manual unzipping required.
Runs on Windows 10/11. The installer will download and verify the TutorClaw package during setup.
No email. No credit card. No membership required to get started.
This version is for Windows computers. Mac and Linux support are coming later.
What happens after you download?
TutorClaw is "local-first." This means it lives on your computer, and your files, notes, and private keys stay with you. Because it runs right on your machine, the first-time setup needs to prepare your Windows environment.
The first setup may take a while.
Depending on your computer’s speed, it could take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes for the setup program to download the companion payload and prepare the supporting tools. This is normal. You should not interrupt the setup process unless it has been clearly stuck for a long time.
If you need to resume the setup after a restart, simply run the TutorClaw shortcut on your desktop or in your Start menu.
A Note on API Keys & Costs
TutorClaw is designed to work with the free version of Google Gemini. For typical starter use, this means you can practice, learn, and use your companion without an added AI bill.
During setup, we will help you get your own "API Key" from Google. Think of this as your personal connection to the AI brain.
- Only enter your key into the local TutorClaw helper on your machine.
- Never share your key in a chat window or post it publicly.
- Your key stays private to your computer.

TutorClaw is a teaching companion, not a human professional.
