Before you run anything:

After downloading, unzip the file in your Downloads folder. Open the unzipped folder, then click README.txt and read the first steps.

First-time setup may take a while. TutorClaw checks for WSL, Ubuntu, and Python tools and should guide you if something is missing.

This first alpha download is for Windows testing. Mac and Linux support are not ready yet.

Before You Install

TutorClaw Alpha is a local Windows setup. On some computers, it may need a few supporting tools before it can run correctly.

The installer checks for these things:

Windows Subsystem for Linux, also called WSL
A supported Ubuntu environment, preferably Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Python tools inside that Ubuntu environment

You do not need to know Linux or Python to try TutorClaw. If something is missing or too old, TutorClaw should stop and point you to a helper script instead of continuing into confusing errors.

First-time setup can take several minutes, especially if Windows needs to install WSL, Ubuntu, or Python tools. If Windows asks you to restart, restart first, then run START_HERE_WINDOWS.bat again.

Compatibility

🔷 Linux: Not ready yet for ordinary users.

TutorClaw Alpha is currently being tested on Windows first. A Mac-friendly version will require a separate launcher and setup instructions.

What happens next?

After the ZIP file downloads, unzip it in your Downloads folder. Then open the unzipped folder and click README.txt. Read the first steps before running anything.

2. No Account Needed

You don't need to create an account or give us your email. Just start using it once you follow the README instructions.

3. No Added AI Bill

For normal starter use, TutorClaw is designed to work with a free Gemini AI tier, so you can begin trying practical AI tutoring and assistant tasks without adding another monthly AI service bill.

4. Pick a Lesson

We’ll suggest a few simple ways to start. Pick one that looks interesting and go.
